Hipster bars, trendy cloths, street food – all at one place.
Curious to know where that is in Bangkok?
Then keep reading!
Pattaya Bus Station was a 150B taxi drive away from our hotel and we got our 2-hour long bus tickets to Bangkok. The bus left Pattaya at 12:30PM so why did we only check-in at 3:30PM? Traffic. The traffic in Bangkok is horrendous and thanks to that, we only had the evening so we decided to visit Talad Rot Fai Ratchada. My brother recommended this place to me back when he was in Bangkok and felt like I’d love the place. He was right!
Upon arriving at the entrance of the market, you’ll see a café-like seating in front of a food truck. Walk past it and you’ll be welcomed my streams of shops that look exactly like what you’d get at Scape flea, but better. The first 2 rows are rows of street food and the rest, clothes.
Marcus decided to split up from us because he wanted to see other things and Kay Wei followed me to shop! The clothes were pretty trendy and cheap but I held back because I think Chaktuchak might have something similar and maybe cheaper. We ventured to the back of the market and it felt like an entirely different place! Hipster bars, cafés, restaurants and most things in vintage Volkswagen food trucks. A pity Marcus didn’t want to chill here because if he did, I’d stay all night.
The food there was of wide variety, ranging from Japanese, Thai to even steak! We tried some egg stuffed squid and it tasted... weird. Kay Wei enjoyed it while I'd rather just eat the squid heh.
Today was a really short day but I guess it’s alright. Bangkok was just one of the stops in our trip to Thailand because I wanted to shop for clothes for my Japan trip haha! Ttfn xx.
