Thailand // Day 13 - Chaktuchak

Tonight’s our last night here in Thailand before we fly back tomorrow at 6PM. I’m feeling quite bumped that the 14 days passed so quickly but thanks to my upcoming trip to Japan (cherry blossom season!!!!!), it doesn’t feel too bad.

We slept in today because the boys stayed up late doing random weird things and couldn’t wake up LOL. Marcus headed to Siam to look for his friend while Kay Wei and I visited Chaktuchak.

Compared to what I remembered Chaktuchak to be in my previous trip here, Chaktuchak was a huge disappointment. The clothes were either too expensive, of bad quality or ugly nowhere near as trendy as those I found at Talad Rot Fai Ratchada yesterday.

The coconut ice cream was bomb and tasted so much better than those you’d get in Singapore (yes, even better than Pong). I was languished to not be able to find the roll-up ice cream because I was really looking forward to having it! Bummer.

Street food was where we had our dinner, as usual, and we started hunting for a money changer after. Most of us were dead broke and could buy at most a beer, much less shop.

Looking for a money changer than was still open late was really tough and we ended up walking for about an hour before finally finding one that was in the BTS station. Not sure why, but we had to buy a ticket to get in before we could change our money….. weird huh.
Anyway, after we finally got our bhats to Artbox (pun intended hehehe), I was caught in awe of how lovely the place looks! The entrance was a hallway of blubs hanging from a makeshift ceiling with pictures decked on the walls left and right. The moment we exited the hallway, we were presented a very hipster-looking night market. The space right before us was for performances. To the left were where the clothes were sold and to the right, food. There was also a stage at the back of the market!
The clothes were definitely a tad bit more costly but the ambience made shopping there feel nice and comfortable.

We really wanted to fully utilize our last night in Bangkok but had absolutely no idea what to do so here I am back in the hotel. Considering how awfully beautiful my hotel is, I’m not complaining about staying in. Time to pack! Xx.
