Thailand // Day 5 - Street Food + Night Bazaar

Just settled at our AirBNB apartment in Chiang Mai this afternoon and was welcomed by a very friendly host that speaks perfect English. The room, however, wasn’t as pleasant as it was at Hohm. Nevertheless, it’s situated at a pretty good location not too far off from the old city and the host gave us a lot of insights on what to do here.

The journey over from Chiang Rai took roughly 3 hours with 1 rest stop in between. We then took a song thaew over to the AirBNB apartment before heading out to get some food. We were staaaarving!
As we roamed around the vicinity, we chanced upon some kind of market that gave off a similar vibe as chaktuchak and had our dinner as we walked. I had a papaya salad and was surprisingly full from it so I didn’t bother looking for anything else.

Was pleasantly surpirsed to see her use the pestle and mortar.....

To make my papaya salad!

The famous banana pancake
Along the way, we tried to look for a place to buy our train tickets to Bangkok but most of them stopped selling at 5PM so we just roamed the old city and slowly walked towards the night bazaar.
When we finally got to the night bazaar, it really made me feel like I was in Bangkok. Most of the things that were on sale were clothes, slippers, and the usual night bazaar things. I bought a pair of shorts for 80B and that was basically it. There really wasn’t much to see imo because it felt too much like Bangkok.

Book stores like these were not uncommon here, i love it!

We headed back to our apartment to put our things down before going out to look for a massage parlour. There wasn’t much nearby so we settled for one that didn’t look too good but turned out pretty great! The boys did the usual Thai Massage while I went for the foot massage instead. They said it was good while mine felt like I paid someone 200B to spam moisturizer on my legs? L although I did fall asleep and well, foot massages are meant to make your body relax right..? HAHA. Oh wells.

Time for bed! I'm dead tired and it’s already 1:30AM xx.
