My trip to Ubud was nothing like what I planned for it to be and I was pretty upset about not being able to try popular warungs but today’s breakfast made it all better.
Both Le and I woke up early to head to Seniman Coffee Studio for breakfast and as recommended by a tripadvisor review, I sat at the counter in front of the baristas and was pleasantly greeted by a barista that was rather fluent in English. Having never tried coffee that was brewed any way other than through the typical coffee machine, I skewed my coffee choice towards the more interesting options like the dripped coffee and eventually ordered the 3 cup tasters – small cups of light roasted, medium roasted and cold brew coffee (IDR 75k).
The light roasted coffee was really very light and had a more tea-like texture. The friendly barista even gave me a heads up that the light brew would taste less flat if I were to consume it after letting it cool for a bit. After hearing that I enjoyed the light brew coffee, he gave me the leftover of another light roasted coffee to taste and even explained the reason why it tasted so different from mine despite it being the same beans from the same tree.
The food, on the other hand, was just mediocre. I got the Mr Bacon Loves Mrs Eggs (I think) and Le got what seemed to be the typical Big Breakfast. Kind of forgot the names of the dishes because, sorry not sorry, I was too immersed in the coffee and staring at the baristas do their thang.

Really looks a lot more like a lab to me! |
Satisfied with our morning, we headed back to the hotel for checkout and were soon on our way to Tanah Lot! There was a 3k entrance fee and although it was beautiful, the sky was slightly hazy causing everything to look a lot more matte (if that even makes sense lol).

Seconds after this photo, we got drenched till our knees from an incoming wave |

It was 330PM and most of us were getting hungry so our driver decided to stop by one of the famous Babi Guling Warung in Seminyak for an extremely late lunch. If you want the taste of Bali, I strongly urge you to take the time to visit this place. Yes, that’s how good it is.
By the time we left and got to Uluwatu, it was already 5pm and the sun was soon to set. We walked around for a bit while waiting for the sun to lower and found the perfect spot to catch the sunset behind the Temple’s silhouette (title photo of this post).

And the real monkey trying to drink water from an upside down bottle. 'A' for effort, lil one. |

I guess it wouldn't hurt to repeat such a gorgeous photo |
Lia CafĂ© @ Jimbaran Bay was our next and final stop for the day before checking in. We got for ourselves the 375k seafood platter that consists of fish, prawn, squid and clams, another 1kg of fish, fried prawn and some fries. The grilled fish in the seafood platter was really good and all of us enjoyed the fried prawns to the fullest – especially dipped in their garlic butter. The bill came up to about IDR 940k for 6 and this is honestly really cheap for a seafood dinner like this! No regrets coming down to this place *thumbs up*
Due to traffic, today was spent mostly traveling but I’m happy to have covered the main 2 attractions of Bali today. More of Kuta will be up tomorrow!
xx.
