Unfortunately due to an accident, our bus timing was pushed back to 11pm. We didn't have much of a problem with that until the driver called my parents to tell them that it's been brought forward to 10pm. We had no choice but to stop whatever we were doing and rush off to Larkin.
Dinner was at an awesome and affordable restaurant called Dontaku.
We rushed back to custom to ask for directions to the bus stop that will get us on board 170 to Larkin but were directed to the wrong place. We spent a whole 15 minutes there trying to get the right directions before my mum approached a teenage boy wearing a SP tee (idk what in her thought that he would know the directions but well, he did) and we finally got the right directions to the bus terminal. We continued asking for directions along the way to make sure we were on the right track but the policeman, sadly, pointed us in the wrong direction causing us to walk till we crossed the border of MSIA to SG (!!!) the policemen in Malaysia are not reliable for directions at all. Some even told us that we had to get a chop out and back in just to get there! What nonsense. So we ended up talking to a police officer which allowed us to illegally jaywalk to get to the other side lol. I'm sure there's another way to it this was just a shortcut.
Unlike the bus rides from SG to MSIA, these bus rides barely stop for toilet breaks (im pretty sure you can request for one tho) and doesn't stop for food at all. So a lil heads up to all of you to bring a bag of snacks along just in case!
The ferry terminal was said to be of a walking distance away from the bus terminal we stopped at but because it was raining, we decided to grab a taxi instead. The ferry ride was approx 90 mins and when we arrived, we were all pretty amazed. Apparently Laguna (our resort) has it's own private jetty like wow!
We were only allowed to check in after lunch so we headed up to the second floor to feeeeaast and feed our starving selves. The view from the dining area was great! A nice sea view, the sound of waves crashing, the smell of the sea, everything will almost perfect. Even the buffet was excellent!
Beef rendang + linguine. Had some fun mixing up our foods haha!
Apart from the view, everything about the room was great. But considering how cheap this package is, I have no complains. What I loved the most about the room was that the toilet bowl, shower and sink are all separated. The sink in the middle, followed by the other 2 at the side with their own individual doors. Perfect for sharing!
Next up, snorkeling. We assembled at the jetty for a short briefing before heading off to Kerengga Island which was 5 min boat ride away.
The amount of fishes in your photos are directly proportionate to the number of legs you see in your photos. So for better looking photos, try staying further away from the crowd. We learnt that after the first snorkeling trip LOL.
Look at all the legs!!!
Back at the resort, I spent some time in the pool before drying myself off by falling asleep by the pool. Following that was a night as mundane as any other. We spent 2 hours having dinner (BBQ food on alternate days!) before heading back up to our room. I loooove relaxing nights like these! It's so therapeutic. Well, that's about it for Day 1.
Thanks for reading! x.
