Today was my very first day at Krabi!
We took the 10am flight from Singapore and arrived at roughly 12 noon. We then took a bus down to our resort, Ao Nang Villa. We only arrived about an hour later even though the trip didn't take that long because the bus would only depart from the airport when it is full.
When we arrived at the resort, we were quickly shown to our room. We were really disappointed because we actually paid extra for a sea view room but instead got THIS
??!?!?!??
So we opted for a change of room and when he brought us to another room, we realized the most sea view rooms were the same :( we ended up going for pool view room and YAY we didn't have to pay extra even though the pool view room is the more costly room. In addition to that, there was free coffee and tea from 4-5pm daily!
After finally settling down, we went outside the villa and decided to have a walk and explore the vicinity.
First up, we took the back exit of the villa, along the beach. There weren't much there except for spas, massage parlors and manicure places, in the day. There were no lamp posts or anything so we concluded that that area would be totally closed at night.
After roaming around for awhile, we decided to take the main entrance out and look for a proper place to dine at. With a fair bit of walking, we finally settled down at a quiet restaurant by the name of Jose. The food here was really quite bad! Their glass noodles were flooded with onions and their pad thai didn't taste like pad thai at all! There was no peanut taste, no chilli, and they spammed sweet sauce....
It felt really odd that everywhere was so empty and most restaurants were almost empty :/
We decided to take a dip in the pool after lunch! I love how there is a poolside bar while allows guests to eat ice cream and drink while in the pool.
At 7pm, we met up with Chloe and Amanda and headed out for dinner. Although it still wasn't as populated as we expected it to be, there was still a lil more life and we ate Thai food once again at the restaurant called Blue Marine.
We were so disappointed to find that fried morning glory IS KANGKONG!!! In addition to that, the green curry was HORRID. The coconut milk taste was do strong I couldn't taste anything else :< the tom yam soup, however, was splendid! Not too spicy nor too sour. Thumbs up!
With dinner done, we met up with Sean and the boys at their room and hung around and drank a lil! While looking for the boys, it started drizzling and we stopped by Haägen Daaz to have some desserts before venturing deeper into where we thought they were. Due to some miscommunication, we took quite a fair bit of time oops. Thankfully, they decided to eat by themselves and found a really yummy restaurant offering indian food! Hopefully, the girls will be able to try it too one day.
Thanks for reading!
