Bali // Day 7 - From Kuta to Nusa Dua

Finally settled down at my new hotel in Nusa Dua and all I can say is that the hotel room is soooo grrrreat. The room is huge!

Anyway, today was a chill day. Le & I didn’t do much but lunch was settled at the #10 restaurant in Kuta we chance upon by accident. I was initially attracted to the interior of the restaurant and the glass display of a huge focaccia.

A complimentary plate of suuuuper delightfully tasting bread was served while we scanned through the menu and made our order.

The Aglio Olio Pepperoncino was not great, quoting Le, “Saizeriya nicer”. I'm sure the photo says it all.

The pizza, on the other hand, made our eyes pop! We got a half-n-half of Meat Lover + Capriccio and was served a thin crust pizza baked to perfection – not too crispy and not too soft. The bill came up to IDR 193k.

On the way back to the hotel to pick up our luggage, I managed to get a top for IDR 30k! To think the very first shop we rejected called us crazy for trying to bargain to IDR 50k! Seriously, never be afraid to bargain.

IDR 112k flew out of our wallets as we took a cab down to Nusa Dua and to be honest, I really hate how cabbing is the only form of transport here. It isn’t really that cheap either. After checking in, we decided to claim the free 15-minute spa and welcome drink while soaking in the pool because it was too late to take a trip to the hotel’s private beach. The private beach closes at 5:30pm (bummer!) and it was already 4pm by the time we were ready to move out.

Nusa Dua is a lot quieter than the other parts of Bali, especially since I’m not in the area where all the expensive hotels are located. Because restaurants aren’t abundant in this area of Nusa Dua, we settled for a basic-at-best warung and had a $7 dinner for 2 which consisted of 2 mains, 1 kangkong and 1 small Bintang beer.

Now, here I am at Pause Café, a café at the back of Novetel, blogging because it’s so quiet and relaxing here. We even ordered a cake each and would probably be back again for the coffee and other pastries since it’s right opposite the hotel.

It’s probably time I end this because they’re closing in 3 minutes and I feel bad for making them stay. Ttfn!

xx.
