Today was a really chill day and we didn’t do much after we got back from Kyoto. We arrived at our apartment at 2PM and took a few minute walk to Dotonbori. Dotonbori is somewhat like the Orchard Road of Singapore in Osaka and although it’s mostly flooded with China tourists, there are tons to do at Dotonbori; especially eat and shop!

Ichiran Ramen |
Lunch at Ichiran Ramen was probably the highlight for today because I felt like I had the best ramen in my life. Ever. No ramen in Singapore will ever be nice again and I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad about this.. I would love to describe it to you guys to explain how great this bowl of noodles tastes like but all I can say is that you have to try it for yourself to know. I never felt the urge to buy an extra bowl of noodles but for this, I did.
Following lunch was just OTOT around the area and we visited Shinsaibashi-suji followed by Head Porter and Floresta. Floresta was a donut shop I chanced upon on Instagram and my, oh my. The donuts are SO CUTE! It took me a whole 10 minutes to muster up the courage to eat these little cuties that seemingly stared at me with their adorable puppy-like eyes.
We headed back towards Dotonbori, for Denden Town. Denden Town is a street a short walk away from Dotonbori that sells tons of anime related things. Not a crazy anime fan myself, I was only caught by a section fully dedicated to Happy Tree Friends – a tiny snippet of my childhood.
Craving for a good bowl of don, we had our first don during this trip at Matsunoya. The restaurant serves decent don for pretty good prices. Mine was only 490yen, served with a hot piping bowl of miso soup.
Out of curiosity, we headed to the porn shop opposite Matsunoya. We were in shock of how different the pornography culture in Japan is as compared to Singapore. A shop filled with porn could never be found in Singapore, much less 4 floors worth of it!
Following that, we headed to the arcade and Muji, to compare prices (it’s so so so much cheaper, gosh), then decided to take a slow long walk back to our apartment.
On the way back I saw a Limited Edition Kate Spade wallet + handphone cover for ~$210 SGD :’) I cried and am still dreaming about it. Contemplating if I should head back tomorrow to get it! Should I?!
