If you follow me on instagram, you must have known that, along with Theo and Vince, I was honored to be chosen by Victor and Jamie as one of the few students out of the entire WSS NMT to be the Social Media Activist of ASPIRE at this year's National Day Rally!
In case you guys are wondering what ASPIRE is, ASPIRE is a project that MOE is embarking on to encourage the cultural change and mindset shift of Singaporeans. "What kind of change and mindset shift?" you may ask. Well, Singapore, being a very established country, is often than not labeled as a paper-chase country. Everyone is chasing after paper qualifications and feel that without it, having a future in Singapore is about as good as non-existent.
So this, is where ASPIRE comes into play. ASPIRE aims to change that and make people realise that skills are far more important than paper qualifications!
You can read more about ASPIRE here.
Anyway, the main point of this blog post is to share my views on ASPIRE. As much as I loooove the idea (I mean which teenager wouldn't?), I tend to wonder how feasible this idea will be. Bringing about a change in mindset is not something that can be done in a short span of a year. In addition to that, unless we see it happening, i trust that most teenagers will not believe what the government is trying to implement.
Despite that, I really hope that this will be a success in the near future and I must say that MOE is definitely taking a step in the right direction. *thumbs up*
Here are some of the photos taken at #NDRSG yesterday ;)
The food was aweeeeesome! They changed the menu entirely after PM Lee made his speech and it because SUMPTUOUS. I went insane because of the beef rendang and tepanyaki beef slices ♥o♥ we also had durian puree and brownies(from 18chefs)!

All three of us were interviewed by 联合早报 and I came out looking horrible on it :( so I shan't post the photo of it here haha!
It was indeed an insane experience and I am really thankful to everyone who helped me and encouraged me along the way.
If you have any questions or feedback on ASPIRE, do feel free to drop me a comment so I can refer the question/feedback to MOE ;)
